Sergei Govorov

With over 25 years on international stages and in classrooms, Sergei Govorov is a saxophonist whose artistry bridges classical tradition and contemporary voice. A Yamaha Artist and graduate of the prestigious Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, Sergei has performed across Europe, Asia, and the United States – including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, and many other major cultural centers – earning acclaim for both his expressive playing and innovative educational work.
His repertoire moves effortlessly between classical, contemporary, and smooth jazz, shaped through collaborations with outstanding composers, producers, and musicians from around the world. Sergei’s unique approach combines the depth of the classical tradition with the freedom and emotion of modern music, creating performances that connect with audiences across generations.
He has led over 600 concerts, presented masterclasses for more than 1,500 students, and created a legacy of published works now performed by thousands of young saxophonists. His recordings have received international recognition, including his album Faith, which has been recognized as a significant contribution to the development of contemporary saxophone and instrumental music.
From the vibrant streets of New York to the jazz-soaked atmosphere of Montreux, from intimate duets to festival stages, Sergei’s music invites listeners into a world where discipline meets inspiration.
